WATERCOLOR FOR BEGINNERS - 3 SESSIONS

Four consecutive Wednesdays, October 16, 23, 30, November 6 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
In this class, teaching artist Maura Amato will guide you through the creation of watercolor landscape painting. She will introduce various types of paints, brushes, and papers, as well as color mixing and watercolor techniques. Composition and lanscape design will also be covered. This is a fun and relaxing class geared towards the novice watercolor painter. Bring a color landscape photo without animals, people or manmade objects to the first class.
MATERIALS LIST:
Canson 9” x 12” watercolor sketchbook or similar (140# coldpress paper)
Talens Art Creations 12-color watercolor set
Cotman dioxazine purple watercolor
Cotman Prussian blue watercolor
Cotman viridian hue watercolor
plastic palette w 20 wells
1” flat taklon brush (or similar taklon or natural hair brush you already have)
#6 round taklon brush (or similar taklon or natural hair brush you already have
graphite pencil with eraser
11” x 14” drawing board or similar size piece of masonite
container for water
Optional but recommended: #2 taklon liner brush (or similar) and 1/2" flat taklon brush
Cancellation Policy: We will refund 50% for any cancellation made at least eight days before the class. After 8 days, we are unable to provide refunds for any reason, including illness. If you cannot attend after registration, you are welcome to gift your tuition to a friend at no charge. We do not transfer tuition from one class to another.
