Four Consecutive Weekdays from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Tuesday, June 25 - Friday June 28, 2019

This four-day workshop will investigate intuitive sculptural installation practice. Students will be able do draw from experience, memory, and personal influence to build with common everyday materials. Using re-purposed plastic, cardboard, paper, paint, and tissue paper, students will design hanging kites and chandeliers to explore form in three dimensions. This class reinforce problem solving and critical thinking while exploring the intuitive language of form + space.

Students will use our studio to assemble and create, and use our front storefront space to explore installation of their finished sculptures. The student’s sculpture installation will stay in the shop for a few weeks on display after the class and will be featured on display for the July Art Loop on Thursday, July 19 from 5-9 pm. Artists and their families are invited to join us for a free public reception of their work on the Art Loop. Finished artwork will be available for pick up on Friday, July 19.

Students should bring or buy:

  • (depending on age and maturity level) a boxcutter and / or scissors that can cut cardboard

  • a hot glue gun and glue sticks
