11:15 - 12:00 // MICA POWDER MIXING with Shannon Eis of Kaleidoscope Pigments: Learn how to incorporate powdered mica pigments into your artwork. Powdered pigments can be used to color resin, acrylic paint, oil paint, cosmetic grade make makeup, soaps, bathbombs, watercolor, mixed with any paint, ink, encuastic and Gamblin cold wax, etc. In this demo, Shannon will demo how to mix pigments into resin, nail polish, and polymer clay and has made “a gazillion samples” to show virtually any artist how mica can be incorporated into your studio practice. Shannon is a professional artist from Toledo. When she could not find large quantities of inexpensive mica powders to use in her own artwork, she decided founded Kaleidoscope Pigments with the help of her BFF, Brandy. 12:15 - 1:00 // MIXED MEDIA ON STILLMAN & BIRN PAPERS with Stephen Owczarzak: Explore a variety of drawing + painting materials, as well as discuss the differences between the whole array of Stillman & Birn papers available at the Depo. Participants will take home an accordian-fold swatch book of various Stillman & Birn papers, and engage in a fast-and-loose painting exercise with the Depo's resident watercolor enthusiast, Stephen. Materials provided by Stillman & Birn and SLS Arts.
1:15 - 2:00 // MAKE YOUR BRUSHES WORK FOR YOU with Donna Ebert: Learn how use different brush shapes to make different marks, therefore simplifying and energizing your painting process. Donna, of His and Herbs Artist Studio + Workshop, is the master of decorative fine art painting. The various types of artist brush shapes available will be discussed and demonstrated, with an opportunity for hands on practice making quick floral and foliage shapes with acrylic paint on canvas panel. Free Princeton Select Mixed Media brushes will be given to each attendee compliments of Princeton.
2:15 - 3:00 // AMAZING AMSTERDAM ACRYLICS with Justin Vining
The Amsterdam Standard series offers everything an acrylic painter needs. A good quality, durable acrylic paint offered in over 70 colors. Justin has over 5 years of experience painting with the Amsterdam brand of acrylics, creating both fine art studio pieces as well as murals as large as 20x40’. Justin will be demonstrating how he uses Amsterdam acrylics to build a traditional landscape painting. Materials provided by Royal Talens.
3:15 - 4:00 // R&F PIGMENT STICK DEMO with Jules Webster
R&F Pigment Sticks are an incredibly fun, immediate, tactile way to paint in oils without having to use solvents or even brushes! Join Depo owner Jules Webster for an overview of how to apply and manipulate pigment sticks with a variety of tools, brushes, and how to combine Pigment Sticks with different media including colored pencil, acrylic paint, and oil pastel. How to choose and prime different surfaces for oil paint and Pigment Stick will be covered. A hands-on experience will be offered after the demo. Materials provided by R&F.

12:15 - 1:00 // GAMBLIN’S OIL PAINTING MEDIUMS EXPLAINED with Jules Webster: Explore all the ways you can modify the working properties of oil color from the tube – from a fluid consistency for expressive mark making to a stiff paste for creating thick, crisp marks. Participants will be able to sample every oil painting medium Gamblin makes to explore all the ways their mediums can thin or thicken paint, increase the transparency of paint layers, and create a range of surface qualities, from high gloss to matte.
