MAKE A RESIN GEODE
MAKE A RESIN GEODE
Instructor: Shannon Eis
Ages: Adults and teens 14+, ages 10 - 13 welcome with additional adult registration.
Skill level: No experience required
Saturday, September 29 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm OR
Saturday, November 17 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm OR
Saturday, December 29 from 3:00 - 5:00pm
Come learn the techniques, tips, and tricks of creating a faux-geode using Art Resin, acrylic paint, alcohol ink, glitter, crushed glass and more! Local artist Shannon Eis has been experimenting with this process for months and has a wealth of knowledge, materials, and inspiration to share.
In this fun, interactive workshop, Shannon will demonstrate how to properly mix Art Resin, and how to include different sorts of materials into the resin. She'll discuss how to modify the consistency of resin by allowing it to set up, show examples of her work, and demonstrate her process. All materials are provided, including a crazy amount of paint, alcohol ink, glitter, and other inclusions. Students have their choice of surface: choose either an oval slice dried wood (to more accurately create the illusion of a geode) or a square artist panel. Also included in the tuition price, each student will get an 8oz mini Art Resin Kit to use in-class and take home (a $28.00 value).
Please come dressed for mess. We recommend leaving good clothing, shoes, jewelry, backpacks and hand-bags at home, as Art Resin is both runny and sticky. Because the resin needs time to fully set up and dry, students will need to come back 2-4 days after class to pick up their geode.
This workshop is also offered in our Bowling Green location on Saturday, October 6 and Friday, December 28.
