Sunday, May 7th from 12:00pm to 4:30pm
(4 hour class with 1/2 hour break for location transition)
Instructor: Ian Welch

In this class taught by professor and professional printmaker Ian Welch, students will learn how to create non-toxic drypoint prints, utilizing a printing press. Working with a variety of etching tools, students will draw a design/image on a piece of 4"x6" copper, and then learn how to ink, wipe and print a small series of 5 prints, including both black and white and color variants. The class will be broken up between developing and drawing the image at the Art Supply Depo, then printing the edition on a vintage printing press at Pegboard Press (above Gathered Gallery), just a couple of blocks away from the Depo.

Supplies Needed:
Two sheets of Fabriano Rosipina paper
One 4" x 6" copper plate
One etching stylus
