JENNIFER GIOVANNUCCI'S ANATOMY DRAWING FOR THE ARTIST

165.00

Six Non-Consecutive Tuesdays in our Studio:
May 8, 15, 22, 29, June 12 and 26
We will skip June 5 for on-site Drink and Draw, and skip June 19 for special collaborative off-site Drink and Draw with the Imagination Station. Students are invited and encouraged to attend both ticketed events.
6pm-9pm
Instructor: Jennifer Giovannucci
Ages: 18+ (serious younger students accepted with parental permission)

All skill levels welcome, from very beginner to professional and beyond.

Have you ever wondered what is under the surface when you draw the human figure? In this six week workshop, Jennifer Giovanucci will teach human anatomy specifically for the artist. An understanding of the skeleton and overlying musculature is essential to defining the form of the human body and is helpful with portraiture as well. Learn to draw the human figure with a combination of lecture, bone studies and drawing from a live nude model.

Through life size drawing demonstrations, Jennifer will describe how the muscles in our bodies work with our bones. Students will be able to put their new knowledge into action with two hours of figure drawing and bone studies from a nude model with instructor available for guidance and answering questions.

Note: This class does NOT go into detail regarding the skull, head, and facial features. Due to the complexity of the head and skull, Jenny offers an entire three week workshop to Drawing the Head, offered April 10, 17, and 24, 2018. Future classes studying the head may be scheduled at a later date but are not yet confirmed.

Students should bring a large newsprint or drawing pad (18" x 24" is recommended), a few earth tone colored pencils (we carry a good selection of colors in Prismacolor or Faber Castell), graphite pencils, an eraser, and a pencil sharpener. Students are also welcome to bring any preferred materials of their choice, such as charcoal or pastels.

You can also call the store ahead of time and have any or all of these items collected and held for when you arrive for the class.
