(4 hour class with 1/2 hour break)

Experience: Beginner through Experienced Welcome

This workshop will teach you two different ways to approach working with charcoal. For the first half of the class we will develop techniques pertaining to the use of charcoal pencils, kneaded erasers, stumps and a variety of blending techniques. The second half of the workshop will include working on a toned paper and techniques for subtracting ground, building up layers of tone/value, and highlighting.



One large sheet of watercolor paper divided into two equal halves
One set of primo charcoal pencils
One kneaded eraser
One white plastic eraser
Spray fixative
Vine charcoal
Drawing board

Please register as soon as you plan on attending. Classes that don't reach the minimum number of students required will be canceled 48 hours before the first day of class. Last minute registrations are accepted if class minimum is met and space allows.
